The Dispatcher is responsible for joint operational control with the Pilot in Command to ensure the safe, legal, and efficient operation of United Airlines flights in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and Company Manuals. The successful candidate possesses strong organizational skills and is detail-oriented. Additionally, strong written and verbal communication skills accompanied by a high work ethic are a must.
· Prepares the flight release
· Monitors flight progress
· Analyzes and disseminates meteorological information, reviews maintenance limitations and calculates the amount of fuel required for safe flight
· Updates the pilot in command of significant changes to the flight plan and provides assistance during irregular and emergency situations

· Utilize all available resources to make decisions that will maintain the highest level of safety
· Coordinate with the PIC to determine fuel requirements, alternate airports, route to be flown, aircraft performance, MEL restrictions, weather and NOTAMS.
· Execute a flight release setting forth the conditions under which the flight will be conducted.
· Flight Following - monitor each flight with respect to: 1) Departure of the flight from the origin and arrival at destination, including intermediate stops and any diversions from the intended flight and/or route to be flown. 2) Maintenance and mechanical delays encountered at places of origin, destination, and intermediate stops. 3) Any known conditions that may adversely affect the safety of flight.
· Ensure the required weather reports, available weather forecasts, or a combination thereof, from an approved weather reporting source as defined in Company OpSpecs are provided to the Flight Crew for the origin, route of flight, destination, and alternates. This data must be included with the flight release.
· Ensure data is prepared and provided to the Flight Crew prior to departure. This includes, but is not limited to, Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs), airport analysis, etc.•




Crew scheduling plays an important role within an airline control center! Crew schedulers are integral to the airlines daily successes by sourcing crewmembers as irregularities impact the daily operation.

The Flight Support Specialist provides support to the dispatchers, takes pilot debrief phone calls, analyzes when enroute delay codes are needed, accurate record keeping in accordance with FAA requirements, Customs paperwork generation and communication, coordinate and ensure Jeppesen manual updates are completed , create numerous daily reports for the dispatchers and supervisors, verification of jumpseat eligible persons through Dept. of Homeland Security and CASS. Update flight tracking system for all aircraft reroutes, diversions, etc. Provide timely assistance to aircraft dispatchers. Manage schedules for the airline in the Sabre system. Monitor aircraft flight progress and tracking and record information.





We're excited to also share Part 135 job opportunities! Under Part 135, based on federal regulations you won't be utilizing your aircraft dispatcher certificate, however many Part 135 operators desire candidates that do have a FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate.
